I’m not a psychologist or anthropologist. I’m just a reasonably well-educated and well-traveled individual who has been fortunate to experience many different cultures and interact with people of all races and varied ethnicities. I have found some of the greatest joys among the poor, but extremely happy, people in Uganda where they were excited to have the opportunity to take us on a trek into the jungle in search of nearly extinct mountain gorillas. I have done business with Japanese business people at the highest levels and learned much about their commitment to their employees, their businesses and their traditional, historical family and societal values and ideals. I have investigated nefarious business dealings in the Middle East and other countries and had my life threatened on multiple occasions. And I have worked closely among American business capitalists at the highest levels where I’ve seen how greed and power can corrupt small-minded individuals placed in large positions. My opinion essays are just that; they are my opinions based on my experiences, observations, learnings, values and ideals.
